A wrist-mounted short-ranged gas flamethrower is a standard weapon in the Taraba arsenal, they use this flamethrower only if their target closes in on them, causing damage per hit and lasting burn effect; they also use their flamethrower to quickly dispose of the corpses of allies. Flame dispensers traps, which appear to be collections of hidden flamethrowers that trigger by direct contact. They're a useable item tile for the garden.
- They were first used by the Greeks in the 1st Century AD.
- It is primarily used against battlefield fortifications, bunkers, and other protected emplacements.
- Military/ battlefield flamethrowers projects a stream of flammable liquid, rather than flame, which allows bouncing the stream off walls and ceilings to project the fire into blind and unseen spaces, such as inside bunkers or pillboxes.
- Contemporary flamethrowers can incinerate a target some 50–80 meters (160–260 ft) from the gunner.
