Cat

Stray cats randomly appear in some areas, mostly in towns, but they can also appear in forests , mountains and the Asuka Village. Their function is similar to dog kennels: while not an immediate hazard, if the player gets too close they will flee, alerting any enemy who sees the cat running.

Unlike dog kennels, there is no way to prevent them from fleeing other than simply not getting close to them.

All cats in the games use the same spotted black-and-white model.
